Hotel costs

There are a number of reasons that the rooms have become more expensive than the 2023 rate:

• Please note that the rate you paid for your room in October 2023 was actually negotiated and agreed back in December 2019. The hotel kindly agreed to honour the contract we negotiated for the 2021 Convention, which was held online due to the COVID19 pandemic. As we know, the world has changed significantly in this time. So this is not the increase over 2 years, but rather over 6 (2019 - 2025).
• The Irish tourism and hotel market has been turned upside down in recent years. It has become a national concern that prices have hiked so much - and unfortunately, we are not immune to this.
• We have compared prices with other hotels in Cork and can assure you that these still are the most competitive prices we could get for you all.
• The Cork International Hotel genuinely love us as clients and have done their utmost to keep their prices down as much as they can. But they are a business and need to raise prices in line with increased expenses.

We know times are tough for many people and we realise this may be disappointing for some of you. Hotel bookings will open at 12 noon (Irish time) Wednesday 2nd October 2024 - so please do not contact the hotel directly on this. If you wish to save money, there are more budget-friendly accommodation options, such as hostels or B&Bs within Cork city, plus will set a room sharing thread when the time comes within our Facebook Group. But, for the moment, we just want to make you all aware of these costs.
