Maskerade

Maskerade Rules

• Any participant exhibiting dangerous behaviour, bad taste, or violating Convention guidelines will be disqualified from the Maskerade.
• Performances must not exceed 2 minutes in length.
• Each individual may participate in a maximum of two entries: one solo and one group entry.
• The Maskerade is a family-friendly event, so no profanity, nudity, or inappropriate content is allowed.
• Attendance at the Maskerade rehearsal on Saturday morning is mandatory for all participants, including those doing simple walk-on/walk-off appearances.
• Tech staff must be fully informed of your act’s content during rehearsal. Any changes after rehearsal must be approved by the Tech team and the Maskerade Director before the event.
• While in the Green Room, please be respectful to our volunteers and performers on stage. Disrespectful conduct may result in removal from the event.
• Participants under the influence of alcohol will not be allowed to take part in the Maskerade or the rehearsal.
• Finally, the Maskerade wouldn’t be possible without the courage and creativity of those who choose to take part. The team sincerely thanks you for signing up and being part of the show.

Tech Requirements

• Lighting on stage will be limited, if you have any lighting requirements this must be discussed and agreed with Tech at the rehearsal.
• Any audio files must be in CBR 320 kbit/s audio in MP4 container format and ideally be made available to the Tech team (tech@idwcon.org) at least 3 weeks prior to the convention.
• If you are to use any video media as part of your act, please contact tech@idwcon.org with details. We will need copies of any video media at least 3 weeks before the convention.
• Media files can be accepted at the Saturday morning rehearsal, however we cannot guarantee they can be used at the event.
• Please note at rehearsal we cannot accept any media via CD, DVD. We can only accept USB flash drives (or you can email files to tech@idwcon.org).
